There was a boy named Peter whose mom told him he was soon going to have a new baby sister or brother. Peter was mad because he thought the baby would turn out to be like his litte brother Fudge. He was also mad that the baby had to sleep in his room. Peter thought that his mom and dad were going to give all the attention to the baby instead of him. Peter tried to go stay with his friend and Fudge tried to stop him by holding on to his foot and was saying, "No, Peter dont go!" Peter's brother fudge was happy that they were having a new baby because he wanted somebody to play with, so Fudge kept worrying his mom about the baby. Finally, the baby was born and Peter did not like it at first, but he started to like it because the baby didn't end up to be like Fudge.
Fudge played hide and seek with the baby and Fudge hid the baby in the closet. When their mom came back in the room looking for the baby, she found the baby in the closet and Fudge got in trouble . Fudge was mad that he got in trouble, but after a while he got over it. Peter and Fudge's cousins came over to see the baby. Peter does not like his older cousin because she thinks that her family is better than theirs. Peter told her that her family wasn't better. When she saw the baby she made a smart comment and said, "I'm glad that the baby doesn't look like you, the baby actually looks better than you," she said. Peter got really mad at her and told her to get out of his room when they were about to leave. Then, Peter and his older cousin finally had time alone to talk. Fudge just got a new bird and he did not know how to take care of it. The bird was really getting on Peter's nerves so after awhile Fudge accidently left the cage open and the bird flew out. When Fudge came home from school and the bird was gone, he ran to his mom in tears saying "My bird is dead!" Then he ran to Peter and said the same thing. Peter said, "Can you leave me alone while I try to do my homework?"
Peter was happy that the bird died, but he did not say anything because he did not want to hurt Fudge's feelings. Fudge kept worrying about the bird and saying "Can you please play with me I'm lonely". Peter played with him just because he did not want to hurt his feelings. Fudge was happy that his mom brought him a turtle. Peter was happy that he did not have to play with him because he was boring to play with. Fudge did not know how to take care of the turtle so the turtle had to sleep in Peter's room so that Peter could feed it and bath it. Fudge was mad that the turtle had to sleep in Peter's room because he said that "he was not going to be able to see the turtle no more if it slept in Peter's room.
